Is it possible to disable the DRL?

Well my question says it all.
Is it possible to the disable the daytime running lights?
One might ask why. I have a profession repairing household appliances and many of my customers don't like to take the day off, so I have a bunch of appointments in the evening. Sometimes a customer cancels the appointment and I have to wait, being parked somewhere for the next appointment. So I keep the engine idling for airco or for keeping the phone charging. Or even worse, heating in the winter when it's dark much earlier. Since I live in a very urban area, people can live with the engine sound. But the DRLs shining in their living rooms?
Well I got policemen several times asking me to put the lights off.
What a stupid thing!
Help would be much appreciated.

Cant you switch to side lights on customs like you can on mk7s?

You have to take it to a ford main dealer , some charge around £40.

Here they don't want to do it. (Belgium)
They say it's a safety feature and they aren't allowed to switch it off.

Also I can't locate the fuse to take it off myself.

You just can't take out a fuse as the drl bulb is also the main beam, ( as far as i know)

Yeah I thought so too.
So the only option is to have it programmed out?

Ford won't turn them off. All new vehicles must have DRL's as standard now including here in the UK :!:

Has the law changed in the last year? They have to be fitted but it WAS the case that you didn't have to use them.
